Charge laid in Igloo Inn armed robbery

Grande Prairie RCMP has a suspect in custody in connection with an armed robbery more than five weeks ago. Around 10:30 p.m. on October 3rd, there was a robbery at the Igloo Inn across from the Prairie Mall.

The ensuing investigation led officers to charge 29 year old Janice Alana Gauthier with robbery with a firearm. She’s now in police custody and will appear in court on November 18th via CCTV.

In an initial release, police said they were looking for a man who demanded money from the receptionist while holding a small, revolver-style gun. Constable Michelle Mosher notes that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
