Alberta loses another 11,000 jobs

The unemployment rate in Alberta continues to rise. It moved up one percentage point last month to 6.6 per cent, which is 2.2 per cent more than year ago.

Here in the economic region that houses Grande Prairie and Peace River the rate moved up from 5.5 per cent to 5.7 in October, nearly one per cent more than in 2014.

While nearly 11,000 jobs were lost in the province, employment increased by 44,000 across the country. 70,000 more people are now looking for a job in Alberta.
