UPDATE: Two dead in rollover near Peace River

UPDATE: The lives of 14 people were claimed by eight accidents in Alberta over the weekend.

Two people are dead after a single vehicle rollover near Peace River. RCMP was called to the scene on Range Road 204 by Township Road 830 at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers found an SUV off of the road and its occupants ejected from the vehicle. A 26 year old man from Grimshaw and another 26 year old man from Peace River were pronounced dead at the scene.

The local police detachment is still investigating the crash with a collision analyst from RCMP K Division. It’s believed neither of the men were wearing a seat belt. Their names are not being released.

The weekend has been a deadly one on northern Alberta roads. Between 8 p.m. Friday and 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning 11 people died in multiple collisions.
