RCMP encourage Halloween safety

RCMP have some tips for staying safe while out trick or treating in and around Grande Prairie Saturday evening. Both children and adults dressed in costumes and out on the street after dark are advised to have some kind of reflective tape or glow sticks to be more visible to drivers, wear face paint rather than masks, and to make sure any costume weapons are obviously fake.

Kids and teenagers are also advised to travel in groups, carry cell phones if unsupervised, and to never go into a stranger’s house or vehicle. On the flip-side, homeowners are encouraged to make sure their houses are well lit, to not light pumpkins with candles, and to report an suspicious activities to RCMP.
