Puck drops on World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Friday

Some of the globe’s best young hockey players are on their way to the B.C. Peace for the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The tournament is being hosted by both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John from October 30th to November 7th.

There are three Canadian teams competing alongside players from the U.S., Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czech Republic born in 1999 or later. The gold medal game on November 7th in Dawson Creek will be broadcast on TSN and RDS, along with the bronze medal and semifinal game played at the Encana Events Centre.

You may even spot the next NHL superstar, as 12 of the last 15 first overall NHL draft picks took part in the tournament, including Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Alexander Ovechkin.
