Modernization project on the way for Cleardale school

A school in Cleardale has been given the green light by the province to move forward with plans to modernize and expand a number of spaces within their building. The Menno Simons Community School, which is part of the Peace River School Division, intends to expand their gymnasium, increase the available space in Career and Technology Studies, and to add a community room with a commercial kitchen onto the school.

They received about $100,000 from the province in early 2015 to look into the possibility of the expansion. Clear Hills County has since committed to assisting in the funding of the project.

The school currently has 114 K-10 students, and is looking at the possibility of adding grade 11 programs for the 2016-2017 school year.
