Stabbing victims didn’t know attacker: RCMP

The man suspected of stabbing four people at the Alamo Bar in Sexsmith early Sunday morning was reportedly not known to his victims.

RCMP says 28 year old Jordan Joseph Wendland, who also goes by the last name Cesena, fled the scene and is believed to be on his way to the B.C. lower mainland. He is originally from there but had recently been living in the Sexsmith/Grande Prairie area.

All four of the young men stabbed were taken to hospital, where an 18 year old passed away. An autopsy done Monday confirmed his death was a homicide. A 19 year old remains in critical condition, according to a family friend.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issue for Wendland on one count of second degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. He’s described as Caucasian, 5 foot 11, 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He is considered dangerous.
