Sentence handed to Rychard for drug bust, Cutbank shootings

A man involved in both a large Wembley drug bust and the shooting death of a man in 2014 has been convicted on a number of drugs and weapons charges. 36 year old Jerrid Rychard has been pleaded to four charges in connection to the June 2014 bust that saw police turn up more than $50,000 dollars worth of illicit drugs and a number of firearms.

Rychard was also implicated in the shooting death of 27 year old Devin Pisch at the Cutbank River later that month, though murder charges were never laid in that case. Rychard pleaded to additional charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm at another person, and two breach charges. Rychard has been sentenced to four and a half years in total for his role in both incidents, but will be credited for 725 days of time served.
