Three homes under construction in Copperwood were damaged by fire overnight. The Grande Prairie Fire Department responded to the homes at 120th Ave and Copperwood Road with 2 engines, 1 ladder, a command unit, and 14 fire fighters around 1 am this morning. When crews arrived they found two homes fully engulfed with flames spreading to a third.
Fire fighters worked quickly to knock down the main fire and limited the damage to the third home to only minor heat damage to the exterior siding. That was the second blaze fire fighters responded to yesterday evening, following a fire at the Wee Links golf course around 7:15 pm.
The cause of both fires is currently under investigation. No word as to whether anyone was hurt.
