Gunshots cause damage to Simonette Road ATCO site

RCMP are looking into some damage that was done at an ATCO Electric plant about 100 km northwest of Fox Creek.

It’s believed that multiple shots were fired at the site sometime on October 17, causing and oil spill and substantial damage to two transformers. The combination of the two reportedly caused the oil to catch fire but the flames were contained and put out by plant employees.

The site is located off the Simonette Road near Snuff Mountain. RCMP are hoping to hear from anyone with information about the damage. You can contact the Fox Creek detachment of Crime Stoppers.
