Wanted man arrested without incident

Grande Prairie RCMP has arrested a man who led officers on a high speed chase through town.

On September 27th, police tried to take 34 year old Curtis Augustus into custody for reportedly threatening someone with a gun. He fled and drove upwards of 200 kilometres an hour before RCMP called off their pursuit in the south end of the city.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and the public was warned that he was likely armed and dangerous. Augustus was found at a local apartment building on Tuesday and was arrested without incident.

A bail hearing is expected to be held next week.  He is not facing any additional charges.
