École Parkside teacher wins Edwin Parr Award

Each year school districts across the province nominate an outstanding first year teacher for the Edwin Parr Award, and a local has taken it home. École Parkside grade one teacher Madame Carly Marton was announced as the zone one winner for northern Alberta Thursday.

Marton joined the Grande Prairie Public School District from Lakeland University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Superintendent Carol Ann McDonald says she has shown incredible enthusiasm and has created a caring and safe environment for her students.

She’s now invited to to attend the Alberta School Boards’ Association Fall General Meeting in Edmonton.
