STARS Air Ambulance marks 30 years

STARS Air Ambulance is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an open house this Friday. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the public can meet pilots, nurses, doctors and paramedics, and check out the inside of their fleet.

Since 1985, STARS has flown more than 30,000 missions. The Grande Prairie base opened in 2006, and nearly 1,700 patients have been treated locally.

Anyone interested in a closer look at how they operate is invited to the event, which includes a barbecue at noon.
