Derek Saretzky found in medical distress

The man accused of killing a southern Alberta toddler and her father has reportedly been taken to hospital in Lethbridge. Officials have only confirmed that 22 year old Derek Saretzky was taken to hospital in medical distress, but other reports indicate that he was injured in a possible suicide attempt.

He faces two charges of first degree murder in connection to the deaths of 2 year old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette and her father, 27 year old Terry Blanchette.

Saretzky was scheduled to appear in a Lethbridge courtroom yesterday, but his matter has been adjourned until September 30.
