Arrest made after Hythe Bigway armed robbery

An armed robbery at the Hythe Bigway has led to the arrest of a Horse Lake man. Angus Byron Ferguson is accused of demanding money from a cashier at the grocery store while carrying a handgun Monday.

Police say the suspect fled the store without any cash, and no one was hurt.

Ferguson has been charged with robbery with a firearm and several other firearms offences, along with breach of recognizance and obstruction. He’s now in RCMP custody and will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on October 14th.
