The police force in the County of Grande Prairie has welcomed a new officer.
During 2015 budget deliberations County Council approved full funding for a new RCMP officer to operate out of the county, rather than an additional community peace officer. That RCMP member is Constable Carlos Daponte.
He will be part of the County’s Enhanced policing unit, the only fully integrated service in Alberta where Enhanced RCMP members work out of a municipal office. He will be tasked with both crime reduction and general investigation duties.
