AER responds to well blowout near Fox Creek

The Alberta Energy Regulator is responding to a well blowout near Fox Creek. The regulator was called to the Encana natural gas site around 2 pm Monday.

The well, which is licensed for hydrogen sulfide and was flowing natural gas and condensate. No wildlife, waterways or public in the area have so far been impacted by the blowout.

AER staff and air monitoring units have been dispatched to the site to monitor the situation and to work with Encana to ensure that all safety and environmental requirements are met.
