Whitecourt RCMP arrested two people for trafficking drugs during a traffic stop in that community Thursday.

27 year old Ronald James Lawrence of Edmonton and 49 year old Kirk Anthony Lambert of Brownvale have both been charged with being in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. 6 ounces of cocaine were seized during the traffic stop, which was the result of a joint illicit drug trafficking investigation between the Whitecourt and Peace Regional General Investigation Sections, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, and Whitecourt RCMP.

Lawrence will make an appearance in court on October 13 while Lambert will make his appearance on October 27.
