Terry Fox Run set for Saturday

This weekend the Terry Fox Run will be returning to the trails of Muskoseepi Park. The event has been held at Crystal Lake the last two years, and is now being combined with National School Run Day in hopes of increasing the number of participants.

Registration starts at 9:30 AM Saturday morning while the run itself will get started at 11:15. This year is the 35th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, which saw him run 5373 km from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Thunder Bay, Ontario.

The marathon was able to reach Terry’s goal of raising $24 million, one dollar for every person in Canada at that time. More than $650 million has been raised since then. The Terry Fox Run has been held here in Grande Prairie since 1984.
