Man arrested for armed robberies in Grande Prairie and Dawson Creek

A man believed to be responsible for armed robberies in both Dawson Creek and Grande Prairie is back in police custody. The George Dawson Inn was robbed on August 26th by a man described as in his fifties, 6 feet tall, wearing a blue hoodie with a distinctive emblem on it. He was armed with a knife.

A man wearing the same clothes had robbed a man at the South 40 RBC in GP two days earlier. The 47 year old man was arrested on September 14th in Dawson Creek.

He was released after a court hearing, but has since been picked up on an extended warrent by Grande Prairie RCMP. He has been re-arrested and is waiting to appear in Grande Prairie court on more armed robbery charges.
