Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum opens its doors

The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum is officially open. An open house was held Thursday night, when more than 2,000 people got their first look at the $34 million facility in Wembley.

The last group of displays is set to arrive over the next month, in anticipation of the grand opening and Amber Ball on September 26th. In the meantime, the museum will be open to the public Tuesdays through Thursdays.

The museum features casts of many dinos that were found there, along with a working lab, and several interactive learning features. Helicopter tours of the bonebed itself are still available, along with screenings of National Geographic Films in the Aykroyd Family Theatre.
