Suspect arrested in armed robbery spree

Police believe a man arrested yesterday after an armed robbery in the west end may be the one responsible for multiple robberies in Grande Prairie since mid March. At around 9:45, a man entered the store, produced a knife, and asked for cash before taking off on foot. Another business later told police that a suspicious person had called for a cab from their premises. RCMP tracked down the drop off point of the cab, and arrested a man without incident. A 29 year old Grande Prairie man is awaiting a bail hearing, where he is expected to be formally charged with 15 counts of armed robbery, 14 counts of wearing a disguise, and 2 counts of breaching release conditions.
