Major grant for GPRC's National Bee Diagnostic Centre

Grande Prairie Regional College has received a $150,000 grant to purchase research supplies for its National Bee Diagnostic Centre.

The funding will go towards two pieces of specialized equipment that will be used to localize and evaluate the viability of honeybee pathogens.

Dr. Carlos Castillo with the Technology Access Centre argues the equipment will open the door to more partnerships with industry and other scientists.

The grant came from the federal ministry of science and technology.
