The wildfire in the MD of Greenview travelled 12.8 kilometres eastward on May 10th and now stands approximately 1 kilometer on the other side of the river in the area of North Goodwin.
Officials say the fire has not reached farmland and is currently in the valley. Residents in the area are urged to stay alert and up to date on wildfire updates on the MD of Greenview’s website.
Residents are also encouraged to sign up for the MD’s Voyent Alert system to receive updates from authorities regarding emergencies throughout the MD.
The MD adds that much of the smoke in the area is coming from wildfires in Northern British Columbia.
