Copper wire thieves caught with help of witnesses

Police have arrested two men they believe stole copper wire from a work site in rural Grande Prairie. After witnesses spotted the theft around 4 p.m. Tuesday, they followed them as they left the area.
 
The men were in a vehicle, which they later abandoned and ran into a field on foot. RCMP Police Dog Services were able to track them down and take them into custody.
 
Both men are facing charges, but their names won’t be released until they appear in court.
