Keep target shooting to licenced gun ranges: RCMP

Anyone looking to get some target practice in is being reminded to double check bylaws ahead of time.

Over the weekend, RCMP got several calls about someone shooting in the Wedgewood Division, just south of the city limits. Officers found the person responsible who had made sure no one could be hurt, but didn’t know about the County’s firearms bylaws.

They state that guns and bow and arrows can only be shot in the Saskatoon Mountain Primitive Weapons Area and at the Wapiti Shooters Club. The shooter in this case could have faced a 500-dollar sign, but police have given them a pass they were unaware of the rules and won’t be shooting again.
