Grande Prairie RCMP are seeking a person of interest in the recent assault of an officer. Police say around 3 a.m. on August 7th an officer was dispatched to a complaint of a possible impaired driver.
The Mountie found the vehicle in the area of 108 Avenue and 94 Street. When they asked the male driver to get out of the vehicle an altercation took place. Both the male suspect and a female passenger then fled on foot and the RCMP member was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Surveillance footage shows a person of interest to police who has black hair and a full beard. At the time he was dressed in a plaid long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a black ball cap.
