New warden at Grande Cache Institution

There’s a new top dog at the Grande Cache Institution. A Change of Command Ceremony was held Wednesday to welcome incoming Warden Paul Bailey. The former Deputy Warden replaces outgoing Warden Arthur Ding, who has served in the public sector for nearly 35 years, including 19 as a correctional officer at a maximum-security facility.

The ceremony is considered an important tradition for Correctional Service Canada, showing the leader’s commitment to the safety and security of offenders, employees, and the public. The medium security prison opened in 1995 and has a capacity of 243 inmates.
