Volunteers preparing for Tour of Alberta road closures

The Tour of Alberta is just four weeks away and final preparations are being done to make sure both the City and the County of Grande Prairie are ready for the cycling race. Volunteers are heading to homes in affected neighbourhoods to spread the word about road closures, and the festivities connected with the event.

They’re also making a big push for more volunteers, especially as course marshals. Chair of the Local Organizing Committee Amanda Freyn says it can be as simple as watching the race from your doorstep and keeping your neighbours safe at the same time.

Anyone interested in helping out is encouraged to contact the bureau or visit the Tour of Alberta’s website.
