Psych assessment ordered for Fox Creek double homicide suspect

A psychiatric assessment has been ordered for the man accused of killing two people in a work camp near Fox Creek. Daniel Goodridge is charged in connection with the stabbing deaths of 50 year old Hally Dubois of Red Deer and 37 year old David Derksen of La Crete.

They were killed in the early morning hours of June 30th at Berland Open Lodge. Dubois was the Berland Open Lodge’s general manager and Derksen was a client. Goodridge had been employed there as a general employer for two years.

28 year old Goodridge is charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of second degree murder, along with three counts of assault with a weapon and interference with human remains, related to the cutting of one of the victim’s bodies. The Edmonton resident made his first court appearance this week, and will be back in Fox Creek court on August 24th.
