Majority of Eastlink Aquatics area to reopen October 23rd

A majority of the Eastlink Centre aquatics area will reopen in a couple of weeks, but the opening of the 25m program pool is pushed back to early November.

The city says delay was caused by necessary repairs of the 50m pool that were identified when the pool was drained, with contractor resources being reallocated to address them.

The municipality says it’s committed to adhering to Alberta Health Services pool standards and conducting rigorous water quality checks to guarantee the safety of all visitors.

All potentially impacted programs beginning on October 23,will be relocated within the aquatics area. Families with children registered in these programs will receive information from the Eastlink Centre with details of the relocated activities.

“We recognize the vital role community health and wellness play in Grande Prairie, and we are eager to welcome you back to the Grande Prairie Eastlink Centre,” says Director of Community Knowledge Campus, Angela Redding.

“Our carefully planned phased reopening prioritizes safety and aims to provide the best possible experience for all our valued visitors. Your support and patience during this time are greatly appreciated,” she adds.

All being well, the 25m pool will reopen for public use on November 6th.
