Mobile mammography unit to visit Silver Valley, Worsley, Fairview

Early detection of breast cancer is often the best way to increase the odds of beating the cancer, but for women in rural and remote communities, it can be hard to get routinely checked out.

Alberta Health Services is once again bringing their mobile mammography unit to communities in rural parts of the Peace Region, including Hythe, Spirit River, Fairview, Silver Valley, and Worsley. The unit will be in Hythe starting tomorrow, followed by a four day stop in Spirit River.

On August 11 the unit will head to Silver Valley where it will spend a day the Savanna Agricultural Society Rec Plex. The Health Centre in Worsley will receive a visit on August 13, and on August 14 the mobile mammography unit will be at the Fairview Health Complex.

Anyone wishing to make an appointment can do so through screeningforlife.ca/screentests.
