Grande Prairie Councillor Dylan Bressey is running to be named the Director and Vice President of Cities under 500,000 for ABMunis.
Bressey says he’s running for the Board and Executive of Alberta Municipalities to support the work of not only councillors in Grande Prairie but also to help provincial members as they help build thriving communities and strong local economies.
“As I’ve had the opportunity to travel across Alberta, I’ve seen that the challenges we are having in Grande Prairie aren’t unique to Grande Prairie. All cities across the province are facing a lot of the same challenges,” Bressey says.
“There are great staff and councillors who are doing a great job in addressing these challenges, and I’d love to continue to support my colleagues across Alberta,” he adds.
Bressey says municipal governance is complex and every community is different, but being able to be on the ground floor when it comes to finding potential solutions for thousands of residents in towns and cities across Alberta is an exciting prospect.
“I appreciate the opportunity to get to learn what is going on in other communities and see what we can bring here to Grande Prairie. I also appreciate getting to hear about the discussions happening across Alberta, and that I can help our council fit in on those conversations,” he adds.
The vote for the Director and Vice President of Cities under 500,000, as well as several other board memberships and positions will be voted on at the ABMunis Fall conference on Friday in Edmonton.
