The Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce is looking to bring politicians from all levels of government in the region and local business community members together for a question-and-answer period in November.
According to the local chamber, the “Your Region, Your Voice” event will have regional representatives from the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government on stage together, answering questions from audience members. Questions are expected to come from all sectors and allow businesses in the region to share the opportunities and challenges that impact their success.
According to the event announcement from the chamber, “Those who need to hear the information and be a part of the conversation will be in the room at the same time. This event will provide insight for our advocacy efforts and has the potential to deliver insight that will inform future and existing projects and partnerships and identify new synergies.”
Politicians who have been formally invited, according to the Chamber of Commerce, include Grande Prairie – Mackenzie MP Chris Warkentin, along with provincial politicians Grande Prairie MLA Nolan Dyck, Grande Prairie – Wapiti MLA Ron Wiebe, Minister of Forestry and Parks and MLA Central Peace – Notley Todd Loewen, and Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Health and MLA West Yellowhead Martin Long, City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton, County of Grande Prairie Reeve Bob Marshall, and MD of Greenview Reeve Tyler Olsen.
“Your Region, Your Voice” is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, and registration is open to Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce members.
