Nature-inspired Maskwôtêh Park now open

Families can now enjoy a fossil hunt site right here in Grande Prairie. Work is now done on the new Maskwôtêh Park, located across from Centre 2000 on the bypass.

The park is inspired by nature, and takes its name from the Cree word for “bear heart”. In addition to the skeletal remains of a T-rex for young ones to play on, the space also features rocks, rope bridges, and an outdoor classroom, along with a picnic and seating area.

The park was made possible through a generous donation from Grande Prairie’s Rotary Clubs, and in total the city’s budget was $300,000. Before it was built, work was also done to extend Muskoseepi Park’s trails.
