County looks at requesting reduced speed limit on a portion of Emerson Trail

The discussion about requesting the province drop the Emerson Trail speed limit will go to County of Grande Prairie Council on Monday.

The motion, brought forward by Councillor Kurt Balderston, if approved, would see the administration send a letter to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors requesting the speed limit on a portion of Highway 672, also known as Emerson Trail, be reduced from 80 kilometres an hour to 60 kilometres an hour; the proposed part of the highway is from the west side of Range Road 63 to the existing 60 kilometre an hour zone west of Highway 2.
