Grande Prairie’s Tenille Townes wins fifth consecutive CCMA Female Artist of the Year award

Grande Prairie’s Tenille Townes made history over the weekend by taking home her fifth consecutive Canadian Country Music Association award for Female Artist of the Year. Along with the historic Female Artist of the Year award, Townes also took home the CCMA for Songwriter of the Year for her song “The Thing That Wrecks You” with Bryan Adams and the award for Country Program of the Year for “Christmas Time with Tenille Townes 2022.”

Townes was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, the 2023 Fans’ Choice award, and Video of the Year for “The Thing That Wrecks You.” The only other artist to take home three awards during the 2023 awards was the 2023 Entertainer of the Year winner Jade Eagleson.
