A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says the weather conditions are favourable for the development of “dangerous thunderstorms” that could lead to strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and hail that causes damage.
Residents should watch out for very large hail that can dent vehicles and break windows, and wind that can break branches off trees and damage weaker buildings and vehicles. If that kind of weather is approaching, meteorologists recommend immediately taking cover.
