A Red Flag Watch is now in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area. A Red Flag Watch is issued in advance of critical fire danger.
Alberta Wildfire explains these watches signify the forecasted possibility of critical fire weather occurring in the next 24 to 48 hours.
“Please use caution in forested areas, as a wildfire can start quickly and spread easily.”
A fire advisory is also still in effect for the local forest area. The wildfire danger is high.
