Assault victim succumbs to injuries

The victim of an assault in Grande Prairie last month has died. The RCMP says 29-year-old Daylon Grimard passed away on September 1st.

Grimard was reportedly assaulted with a weapon in the area of 100 Avenue and 96 Street around 4:25 a.m. on August 13th. Police later said he had sustained serious injuries.

Mounties are looking to speak to anyone who may have in the area at the time or who may have dash or security footage between the hours of 3:30 and 4:30 a.m.

An autopsy for Grimard is scheduled for September 5th.
