For the first time in a couple of years, Grande Prairie Firefighters will be dropping their equipment, and shirts, for a good cause, as the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation is set to release its 2024 firefighters calendar.
The calendar will launch at a special event on September 29th at Better Than Fred’s, where ticket holders will not only get a copy of the calendar, but will also receive complimentary champagne and appetizers, photos with firefighter models, music, crowd games, a 50/50 draw, and raffle prizes.
Firefighter Mark Brazier says being able to give back to the community in a unique way is something he can take a great deal of pride in. He adds all of the proceeds from calendar sales will go back to those who need it most in Swan City.
“All the money we raise from all of our events stays locally in Grande Prairie. So, we get to see the money impacting families directly, oftentimes, we are delivering right to people’s door, and helping community members,” he adds.
Firefighter Jordan Wttunee-Campbell says it’s been a couple of years since their last calendar effort, and he is hopeful the community will come out in a big way to help as many people as possible.
“I’m looking forward to the event itself, we are there for a good cause and raising money for the community,” he adds.
Tickets for the calendar launch party go on sale on August 25th, and you can find more information on the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation Facebook page.
