Rainfall breaks 34-year-old record

Wednesday’s rainfall unofficially broke the daily record for August 23rd in Grande Prairie by nearly 12 millimetres. A total of 33.3 millimetres fell, far surpassing the 21.6 millimetres that was recorded on that day in 1989.

The rainfall warning for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region was lifted early Thursday. The rain should taper off late Thursday morning.
