UPDATE: Harvest Festival cancelled

UPDATE: The Harvest Festival has been cancelled due to poor air quality from wildfire smoke. The City of Grande Prairie announced the cancellation the morning of September 165h, citing current and forecasted elevated air quality outside of safe conditions.

The city will be hosting its annual Harvest Festival next month with a lineup of free events for those looking to enjoy kicking off the fall.

Included in the festivities are live music, a petting zoo, wine and spirit tastings, a pie-eating contest, and fall-themed games and activities.

“An important piece of ensuring a high quality of life for our residents includes hosting events where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities feel welcome,” says Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “[The] Harvest Festival includes many fun and age-inclusive activities to get the whole community involved while celebrating a change of the season.”

The full slate of events will take place near the amphitheatre at Muskoseepi Park on Saturday, September 16th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
