Pirates again host Alberta fastball provincials

For the second year in a row, the Grande Prairie Pirates are hosting fastball provincials. The best Senior B and Intermediate B and C teams from across Alberta will be playing at South Bear Creek Park today through Sunday.

Other than the Pirates, the local Crown and Anchor team will also be competing in the Senior B division, with the champions qualifying for Western’s in Winnipeg the first week of August. The Pirates hosted the Western Canadian’s last year and came fourth.

Games start at 11 a.m. today, with playoffs Sunday. Admission costs 10-dollars a day or 20 for the weekend.
