A man who was shot outside a BC Hydro Site-C Open House in Dawson Creek has succumbed to his injuries.
Around 6:30 pm last night RCMP responded to complaint of a disturbance outside a restaurant and hotel in Dawson Creek where the open house was being held. Police were told that the man was damaging property and disrupting the public event.
When they arrived they found a masked individual outside the building. Mounties attempted to de-escalate the situation but the man was shot during a confrontation with police.
He was taken to hospital and later passed away.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C will be taking over the investigation and is expected to arrive in Dawson Creek today.
