Citizen satisfaction down in Grande Prairie

The results are in from the 2015 Citizen Satisfaction Survey and while the quality of life is still rated extremely high, a growing number of residents are becoming unhappier. 29 per cent of the 400 households surveyed by phone say the quality of life in Grande Prairie has worsened, much higher than the 16 per cent who said so the last time the survey was done in 2013.

Just 58 per cent of respondents said GP is a place they feel safe and secure, down 20 per cent, largely due to drugs and crime. The people who believe it’s a great place to raise a family is also down 10 per cent.

There are some positives to be taken away, though. Satisfaction for snow removal is up 18 per cent, and citizens are increasingly content with the city’s infrastructure.
