Tenille Townes, High Valley nominated 2023 CCMAs

The 2023 Canadian Country Music Awards nomination list includes two Peace Country artists.

Grande Prairie’s Tenille Townes is up for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and 2023 Fans’ Choice. Townes is also nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Video of the Year for her song with Bryan Adams called “The Thing That Wrecks You.”

This is Townes’ sixth time being nominated for CCMA Female Artist of the Year, having won the award the past four years. This is also the singer’s second time being nominated for Entertainer of the Year, having won the award last year.

High Valley’s song with Alison Krauss “Do This Life” is nominated for Musical Collaboration of the Year. The band from Blumenort, northeast of La Crete, is also up for Group or Duo of the Year and Fans’ Choice. This is the 12th time High Valley has been nominated for the Group or Duo award, having won the CCMA in 2015, 2016, and 2020.

Townes has won 14 CCMA Awards in her career, while High Valley has four. The 2023 CCMAs are scheduled for September 16th in Hamilton, Ontario.
