County firefighters have successfully put out a blaze that sparked at the Weyerhaeuser Mill early this morning. Crews from the Clairmont, Dunes, and Bezanson stations responded around 1 a.m. with the help of the Town of Sexsmith.
They were able to extinguish the fire within four hours using 22 firefighters, three engines and two ladder trucks. The scene was then turned over to Weyerhaeuser.
Fire Chief Everett Cooke says the cause is now under investigation. No word on how much damage was done.
