Sexsmith Bulk Water Station set for month long closure

Users of the Sexsmith Bulk Water Station will have to go elsewhere for the next month, as Aquatera has announced its closure so they can finish upgrades at the facility.

During the closure, the existing concrete pad will be replaced with a heat-traced pad, complete with a catch basin to contain and drain any spillage and run-off from the pad into the sanitary sewer system. It’s the second time in 18 months the station has been closed, as ice build-up from the 2021-2022 winter also forced the shutdown of the station due to unsafe conditions that could not be maintained.

During the temporary closure, customers are asked to use Aquatera’s other bulk water stations:

13405 97 Street in Grande Prairie, east of Keddies, across the tracks, first turn to the left
12109 97 Avenue in Grande Prairie, west of EMCO, or southwest of Peavey Mart
711079 RR73 in Dimsdale

The Sexsmith Bulk Water Station should be reopened by the end of July.
