Grande Prairie missed beating another heat record yesterday but just one-tenth of a degree. It reached 31 degrees in the 4 p.m. hour Wednesday, just under the 31.1 degrees the city saw on July 8th, 1964.
More hot weather is on the way for the Swan City, with a forecast high of 31 today and 28 Friday. The wildfire hazard in the region is currently very high, and a fire advisory remains in place.
